KANAVU THOZHILCHALAI:

Well, it's a Sujatha book, that alone enough. a man who changed tamizh literature for good, this one of his best work with unpredictable yet a new narrative style, if  to speak about the narrative style and techniques I have to point out each and every paragraph of the story.

Basic details, it's a third-person narrative with a lot of the fourth walls breaking, completely simple language that even a third grader can understand.now to point out the Sujatha's magic.

1.Every chapter starts with a verse or quote which is completely irrelevant to the story but relevant to chapter, it's up to us to relate those words with chapter , a simple example is what I did in the beginning of this review, it has nothing to do with this post but in general, it speaks about online posting which is kind of relevant.

2.The quote varies from thirukural to the bible to censor act to a glossary on a book for editing, one more thing to point out is that  after one thirukural he wrote "3c yil Thiruvalluvar" denoting he read it on a bus. it's like  a bible quote with "john the on church wall" instead of john.

                  3. Abrupt shifting of storyline that too in a peak emotional moment creating more tension that you have to wait for 4-5 pages to know what happened next, there is not dotted line ,hashtag, stars just sudden cuts,

                  4. There isn't many details about facial expression or tone in which way the dialogue was said. so you don't know whether a character is serious or scarcastic.

                  5. The author played very well with dialogue , the style he followed in most places of the book is by stating only the actions not instead using more words. example: "ninran, kadavu thirakapatadu, sendran" instead "avan nirukondu irrundan , aval kadavai thirandal, avan ullei sendran".

                  6. At one chapter author starts the chapter with "kanadhi mun nindran arun, nindran arun nindran kannadhi mun " translation would be "arun stood in front of the mirror, in front of the mirror stood arun" ,which denotes that the same situation gets reversed acknowledging that that chapter is a crucial point where everything changes.

OVERALL RATING:

A must read, the best of Sujatha, portrays the sad and ugly side of glamorous stardom, the way how cinema and censorboard works,I loved every chapter, every line feels so genuine, only issue I had is that there is scene where a father meets his newborn son for the first time, it feels so dry authour could have stressed out that part or he tried to show that charecter emoition less.this book is not for kids as it shows some sexually explict thing, my rating would be 4.5 out of 5 .this is the highest I have given so far.
